Look at our master bedroom ya’ll! I am so so happy with how things look in here. And a special thank you to my girl Mackenzie (@houseof19crafts) for the inspiration!
I am thrilled to share with you the reveal of our bedroom. This space was a long time coming and we could not be happier with it! Our bedroom seriously has come a long way from the mix-matched bachelor pad furniture to the random storage we had within the room.
But now it is so serene and calm and soothing….exactly the way we wanted it! The hardest part about the master bedroom for us was that it had to meet TWO people’s expectations. Trey and I both are fairly opinionated and very stubborn when it comes to how spaces look and feel and what functions well. So for us, we knew that we wanted to create an adult space that met both of our needs.
First, we both agreed that we needed to upgrade our mattress. We we’re waaaaay over due for a king size mattress. It didn’t take too long for us to settle on the perfect mattress. We ended up choosing the Simmons Beautyrest Black Hybrid Plus Wellington mattress from Mattress Firm. It’s the perfect combination of cozy plushness. I love it!
Next we wanted to make sure that the style of the room reflected both of us. We both wanted it to be clean and comfortable. In a practical sense, we knew we needed storage, which led us to Ashley’s Furniture. We couldn’t be happier with the bedroom set we choose. And because Trey is such a negotiating ninja we left with a deal we couldn’t pass up.
Lastly, because I am not a designer, one of the biggest surprises of this process was trying to figure out the color scheme for the room. We were definitely on a mission. It took a few tries but we finally landed at Bed Bath & Beyond where we found this awesome comforter set. (Finally, one we could agree on and at a reasonable price!) Then we decided on pops of yellow and gold for the accent color. And just as we were checking out Trey ran across that awesome painting above our bed. It totally ties the room together! And of course no shopping trip is complete without a stop at Target where I found the perfect lamps.
There’s a few things I would like to add as time goes on – like a few more pictures and a little greenery etc. But in general, I’m so happy to call this space done! And with that, we have officially checked the master bedroom off of our to-do list. Next up getting the baby room ready before December.
